Done with Holiday season...breathing....

Now to post!

I finished my cross-stitching projects before Thanksgiving, but I never got the chance to write about them for you all. Attached are some photos for how the cross-stitched cubes (inspired by Kell!) turned out. I stuffed each of them with cotton and put ~6 jingling bells inside. They're very soft jingling, not loud enough to be annoying to parents.

They say S-A-M-U-E-L and L-O-R-E-N-A, the names of the baby cousins I was giving them to. I was really amused at their parents' different reactions. Lorena's mom said, "Oh this is perfect, Lorena is just at the age where she loves to hold things and throw things." Samuel's mom said, "Ah, Samuel, you can't hold that! It's a keepsake and mommy's putting it on a very high shelf out of your hands until you're 18."

Now my 20-something and 30-something cousins are jealous of the babies' gifts!!

Awww they're lovely And I think they should definitely be played with, it's great to see stitching that isn't just for decorative purposes.

My craft has become vitually nonexsistant at the moment. Staff shortages and holidays have left us looking rather short staffed.
On the upside my payslip will be looking slightly healthier this month!!

However im currently stitching Mr Grumpy for my brother (whose nickname is Mr Grumpy and not without reason!!), turning the free kit from the latest edition of Cross Stitcher into a totebag birthday present for my friend (with a few colour changes), got to stitch another totebag for another friends birthday (and i thought about stitching the Born Free lions again which i posted here - simple but will look brill!) and there was a heiroglyphic ABC in the latest edition of The World Of Cross Stitch which im dying to stitch, because i LOVE all thing egyptian, once i have everything so that will keep me quiet!!

I'm still working on Weekend in Paris, finished the half stitches (took forever!) now I've just got the backstitch and couching. Am starting my MSc dissertation at the moment though (just agreeing timeline with my supervisor), so I haven't had as much time to stitch this last couple of weeks. Hoping to do some tonight after a hard day's work on the dissertation today.
